At the Guy Mascolo Football Charity, we have started a programme called the 'Coaching Pathway'. This shall provide opportunities for young aspiring people in our local community to get involved in the industry of Football Coaching.
This programme shall offer the participants opportunities to learn new skills, gain coaching experience, on-going mentoring and a chance to gain FA Level 1 and FA Level 2 Coaching qualifications. These qualifications are good achievements to have on your CV and we also you an opportunity to be employed within our charity projects and at our partnered club, Bedhead FC.
George Willis started on the coaching pathway in October 2018, at the end of August 2019 George did his FA Level 1 in Football Coaching course and passed with flying colours. George Willis is now a Football Coach for Bedhead Football Club. In the duration of George's time on the programme he has shown steady progress. We now expect George to keep up his hard work and to ensure that he is constantly developing himself as a young man and as a football coach.
"The coaching pathway is a great programme and I have had a great experience, I would highly recommend it to any young person interested in starting a career in Football coaching." George Willis
Eric joined the programme in April 2018, at the end of May 2018 he started his FA Level 1 Football Coaching qualification. He completed and passed this by July 2018. After a period of voluntary work, Eric has now started working at Bedhead Football Club and at the Guy Mascolo Football Charity. Eric's period of volunteering allowed him to gain a deeper understanding of what procedures a coach has to follow before, during and after a session. This information would have been relayed to him through our mentoring programme within the Coaching Programme.
"The Coaching Pathway has really helped me because I have been able to work with children and help them to get better at football, it has also helped me with my understanding of football through my mentoring sessions and session plans." Eric Taylor.
There are many more people in our local community who have been given support and our services to ensure that they stay on the right track and make a difference to our community and their lifestyle.
